Policies & Expectations
We want your retreat to be peaceful, safe, and well-supported. The guidelines below help everyone know what to expect and allow us to care for the space respectfully, together.
Reservations, Deposits & Final Numbers
A signed agreement and deposit confirm your reservation. The full balance is due at the beginning of your retreat unless other arrangements have been made.
Groups are asked to provide a final attendance number no later than five business days prior to arrival. This allows us to prepare guest rooms and meals with care.
If individuals cancel after the final guarantee has been submitted, a per-person fee may apply. These fees are not charged in cases of illness or serious personal or family emergency.
Group Cancellations
If your group cancels more than 90 days prior to your event, 50% of your deposit will be refunded. Cancellations within 90 days of the event result in forfeiture of the deposit.
In rare cases, St. Rita Retreat Center may need to cancel due to safety concerns such as wildfire danger, unhealthy smoke conditions, or severe winter weather affecting access. If the Center cancels, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Meals & Food Service
For hosted retreats, we provide simple, nutritious, balanced meals. We do our best to include options suitable for vegetarians and those who are gluten-free or lactose intolerant.
Because we are a small facility with a small kitchen, we cannot accommodate every dietary preference and cannot guarantee completely gluten- or dairy-free preparation. Vegan accommodations are generally not available.
Our meal pricing is packaged and cannot be discounted if participants choose not to eat the provided meals.
For private bookings where meals are not provided, retreatants are responsible for bringing their own food and for cleaning the kitchenette before departure.
We do not cook with tree nuts, though peanut butter may occasionally be served at breakfast. Please notify us in advance of any severe allergies.
Linens, Rooms & Departure
Professionally laundered linens are provided and should be used during your stay. To help prevent pests, sleeping bags and similar items are not permitted in guest rooms.
Retreatants should bring their own towels and toiletries unless towel service is added in advance.
At the conclusion of your retreat, we ask groups to remove all personal belongings from rooms and conference areas and to follow the provided linen and trash instructions. Detailed clean-up guidelines will be shared upon arrival.
Parking & Arrival
Parking is limited, and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Groups of 25 or more are required to have a carpooling plan in place.
Parking is allowed on paved areas only. Larger vehicles must use the lower lot. Advance room assignments and arrival coordination are recommended to prevent congestion during check-in.
Safety & Natural Environment
St. Rita Retreat Center is located in a natural setting where wildlife may be present. Guests are asked not to dispose of food in outdoor trash cans, as this attracts animals.
Hiking trails are available and maps are provided. For safety and erosion prevention, please remain on designated trails.
Campfires are not permitted under any circumstances. Smoking or vaping is not permitted on balconies or patios and is prohibited throughout the property. Alcohol and marijuana are not permitted, except sacramental wine when appropriate.
Guests acknowledge the inherent risks of natural environments and hiking and assume responsibility for participation in these activities.
Respect for the Space
St. Rita Retreat Center is a Roman Catholic facility and welcomes guests of many faith traditions. We ask that religious items and sacred spaces be treated with respect. The altar may be moved carefully but should not be used as a table, and religious items should not be removed or covered.
Pets are not permitted, with the exception of certified service animals, which must remain with their handler at all times.
